Gettin' A Little Sick and Tired......
I said I wasn't going to speak to this subject anymore but I'm getting sick of all this media bullshit about the "Miami Melee" Saturday night.

Yes, the fight was inexcusable and stupid but give me a freaking break. ESPN is so biased and reports the story as if Miami was the only team involved in the fight. Did the Hurricanes brawl with each other?

Unfortunately, Miami will NEVER be able to shake its image from the 80s and early 90s. Part of me thinks why even try? Yet, the present coach and administration will still do anything to change this perception that Miami is still Thug U. It doesn't matter though.

What I find fascinating is how the media acts like this has never happened before and I ask this, what team would not have charged the field after its kicker and backup quarterback were thrown to the ground and kicked? Again, I'm not condoning what some of the Miami players did but I am sick of everyone acting like it's never happened before or as if his/her team would not have fought back!

Check out Lou Holtz's last game as a Cock:http://youtube.com/watch?v=omHv-UWbfe8 and by the way, this one had actual injuries.

Also, check out the angelic Irish: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1zgzXSbuyB8

Now, I'm done talking about this.

I also remember the OSU linebacker choking the player on the field after he tackled him.

Talk about a thug.

Sportschica,
You're right, Miami is never going to live down the 80s image no matter what they do.

I do think that they have cleaned up their program significantly, this past Saturday's fight was an unfortunate incident that set them back but they will rebound.

Hang in there muchacha!

Answer to devo's ? at the end of Stewey's blog.

U, act like you've been there before.

I smell a bait set-up again.................but I will disarm Sportschica by saying I totally agree with you. It was a stupid, stupid thing for him to do. It was embarrassing to me as an OSU fan. There's no explanation for what could've been in his head at the time he choked Wisconsin's QB. What? Like nine different TV cameras are not focused on you?

It must be wonderful to live in Devo's world! He's a Gator fan, an Ohio St fan and...what else Devo?
It doesn't matter week in and week out for you because you have about 10 teams you call yourself a fan of, right?

SportsChica, you should take on that mantra, that way this week's Miami debacle would not bother you so much. You could just go follow your team de jour like Devo!

If anyone wants to see A, how much crap there is in sports and, B, how the media focuses on it, just go to ESPN.com anytime during any day and look at the ESPN Headlines in the College Football section. Four of nine headlines are for players in trouble. That is typical.

Trigeek,
No "bait" on my part. I know how you feel when your team does something stupid. I feel the same way when my team does and this last weekend's incident is no exception.

However, according to some ESPN idiots who I used to watch, the University of Miami should get rid of their football program. Hey, maybe they should give back all those national championships too! After all, no OTHER college football team would have fought back Saturday night.

Dearest cowardly anonymous poster attacking the devo:

I will not bother breaking down the history of my fandom, since you most likely know me, already heard the drunken story, and are just calling me on the carpet for shits'n'giggles.

I love watching/cheering for the Gators and the Buckeyes, and if they ever will play, I would go all in for the Gators. So: 2/3 Gator, 1/3 Buckeye.

How's that? Not 10 other teams, just two. Oh wait.... I will shout for whomever plays against the Bulldogs, Vols, Canes, Criminoles, and Wolverines. That's definitely more than 10. Damn.

Hmm... I am guessing this JC is at the helm of this meany attack on the devemeister. Hint: It was the use of the word "mantra".

Not a fan of violence or of the U for that matter ( Coral Gables is sweet), but I do think it is funny some OSU fan is talking about seedy behavior amongst some players. Isn't it funny that the Ohio State peeps were all about little Mo when he helped them win the National title? Now bring him up and he is referred to as a bad seed or a cancer. Well actually I guess at this point he would be referred to as inmate #.......
