Crazy-Ass Weekend

We all know how this last weekend's outcomes shocked the college football landscape so we're not going to dwell on it so much. What I find interesting is the AP and Coach's Polls. They are dramatically different in some areas this week. How can that be? Check them out:
http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/rankingsindex

First off, USC should not be number 1. They have not impressed anyone since the season started especially since they HAVE NOT played anyone! Give me a break. I can't wait for them to lose and I foresee Cal doing it or even Oregon. I'm just sayin'!

Were the Gators looking ahead to LSU? If so, then they're idiots given the fact that Auburn was the only team to beat them last year. Kudos to the Tigers for going into a hostile swamp and upsetting Florida.

And then there's Colorado! That's all I can say about that game.

Texas has not looked like a top ten team all season so Kansas State's beatdown over them didn't surprise your Chica in the slightest.

This is why we love college football though, the underdogs have a shot each and every Saturday and unless your team is Goliath, it's fun. This upcoming weekend is going to be a hell of a time with tons of good games on the docket. Each conference has at least one good one.

I'm so excited that I've made myself queasy, freakitos. With that, let me say ciaosito for now and we'll chat soon!

Real quick: La Chica was 4 for 8 on her picks. Getting better!

A great football weekend.

Half of the top ten got beat, which allows for Southern Florida (very impressive) and Kentucky (even more so) to sneak into single digit rankings for the first time since La Chica was just an adorable 3 month old baby, and I'm guessing she's about 26 by now.

If Florida loses to LSU next week, how will that affect Tebow's confidence? Is Urban gonna be able to prevent his team from losing two SEC games in a row? And what happens if UGA pulls off a win in Neyland Stadium? What a great set-up for the cocktail party as long as we can get by Vandy before we go to Jacksonville.

Sucks to be Nick Saban these days, but you get what you reap and Saban reaped plenty of people to get that Tide job. Way to go 'Noles!

GO DAWGS!

Finish the Drill,
As always, such a pleasant commentator. I'll take the 26 years!

Back to football, I don't think UF will lose to LSU. Something tells me Urban will have his boys ready and even though they got exposed a bit the last 2 weeks, they're still a good team.

UGA should go into Rocky Top and beat UT. You guys are a better team than them.

As for Satan, everyone knows how I feel about him. You're absolutely right, he's getting what he deserved. Karma is a bitch!

Fabulous weekend! Dawg Diva loved the incredulous look on bob Stoops face as Colorado tied them . It was that "I was going to take it all this year and give Mack Brown the finger, but you peeps are bringing me down look"

And poor Timmy Tebow. Doesn't he call himself Superman? Now Dawg Diva is not into Superheroes (although she does love Christian Bale (Batman) and Ed Norton is going to be the Hottie Hulk) but where was his kryptonite? I only know this because of that 3 Doors Down song..I digress. Oh Timmy...I think Glen Dorsey is going to be ready for you.

Go Dawgs!

Oops-I wasn't trying to be anon.....Its me-Dawg Diva. And FTD (you are a conglommerate), Chica isn't a day over 25:)

Dawg Diva,
I knew that was you but thanks for clarifying (smile). You're the only other one who uses 3rd person besides La Chica. Well, except for Neal.

And another thing, I'm not trying to toot Tebow's horn because I too am sick of hearing about how wonderful this kid is, but he reminds of the Terminator.

Remember in the 1st Terminator movie where Arnold could not be destroyed or brought down? That's what I think about when watching him. I know Auburn did a pretty good job of keeping him contained but even then, he couldn't be stopped.

I hate to admit but the kid is good.

Chica, how dare you defile the Terminator by drawing a comparison with that wussy Tim Te-bonehead?

Also, oh wise La Chica, if it is the University of Oklahoma, why are they referred to as OU?

Trigeek,
I'm just saying. I too hate watching that kid skip after they score, but he's good.

As for OU, I've wondered that for years. They're not too bright in the middle of the country.

Back to Florida, what about ANOTHER one of their players getting arrested????? Geez, Urban, what kind of kids are you recruiting down there?? Certainly not the "top 1% of the top 1%"!

Lets not get all elitist La Chica. Why some of the most talented atheletes have worn orange jumpsuits:)

And yeah Tebow is pretty good, but no self respecting adult calls himself Timmy. Fact-Dawg Diva had an imaginary friend growing up named Timmy. And look how fabulous I turned out:)

Tri-geek:

Do not even speak of the NATIONAL CHAMPIONS, THE FLOR-ID-A GATORS. You are not worthy, grasshopper.

Are you not the Buckeye supporter??

If not, sorry -- IF SO, then SHUT IT, 41-14. Your envy and hatred is painfully obvious and sad.

This year is simply gravy for us Gators... Beating TN was sweet, and beating GA for the helluvit is a nice-to-have.... ahhh.... the crystal fooooootball.......

Gator-D, my comment was not meant to denegrate your mighty Florida Gators, but rather to protect a sacred hallmark of motion picture history, The Terminator, from comparison to lesser gods.

And yes, I do remember the game in Glendale. I was there..............dammit! But, I ask you, all year we heard about how we had lost nine, count 'em, nine defensive starters off the 2005 Fiesta Bowl team to the draft and how that would be impossible to repeat. So, wouldn't it compute that our defense could be attacked in the BCS game, no? I'm proud that, after all those losses, we were even back in the national championship game.

Now, this year, we lose a Heisman QB and all-world WR/returner, starting RB and top-flight second WR to the draft, yet here we are back again performing well. We handled a Washington team 33 - 14 that USC struggled to beat 27 - 24. I'm not saying we're going back to the BCS game, cuz we ain't, but you have to give kudos to Jim Tressel for the way he retools and coaches up the team every year.

I will be at the UF - UGAg game relunctantly backing the Gators, only because my hatred for UGAg is immense.

Trigeek,
Are you done tooting your own horn now?

Purdue's offense looks to be pretty good but as I stated, they have not played anyone. I think you guys handle them pretty easily this weekend. Not to mention, they always mucky it up against you guys.
