Quick Thoughts

Thank you bowl selection committee and the BCS for failing us fans again. As predicted, the Rose Bowl and Sugar Bowl were complete bores.

Hawaii was completely outmatched by Georgia and proved they did not deserve to be in a BCS game. I'm not taking anything away from their undefeated season but when you have to go into triple overtime to beat a team like San Jose State, then you know you do not deserve to be playing on a stage like last night's. Just sayin'.

As for the Rose Bowl, I really do not have much to say other than the obvious: The Rose Bowl committee or whatever these morons call themselves should be taken out back and given wedgies. They chose to honor a tradition that no one gives a shit about instead of pairing the better teams up for this game. I've said it a thousand times, Georgia and USC should have played in that game this year.

On the flip side, what a great game the Capital One Bowl turned out to be. Kudos to Michigan for playing as hard as they did!

Gotta run freakitos. Let's hope tonight's game between West Virginia and OU is better!

Yeah-UGA vs USC would have been a great game. But I did like the way they opened up the Sugar Bowl saying Colt was so excited because he just got off probation....Wonder if Colt knows where he is today? And the Illini were way overmatched.

Do you like my new name Chica? :)

Is this you, Diva??

The Illini looked like they had grease on their hands. My little dog could have protected the ball better than those freaks.

Its me Pooh Bear! Yeah and Zoe could have been a USC Song Girl:)

Btw-I will have to send you a link tonight to an interview with the mother of the Matt Leinhart's child...I think you may get a chuckle

How was the Auburn/Clemson game Chica? I did not see you on TV!

The Auburn/Clemson game was pretty boring for a lot of the game. Both teams struggled offensively for most of it. And, I'm not going to lie, I left before the game ended!

The last thing La Chica wanted to do was ring in the new year in the Georgia Dome.

I guess you had a big new years date! Good for you!

La Chica has no comment.

Ah, I had forgotten about Leinart's illegitimate kid.

Speaking of bastards, how many illegitimate kids does Tom Brady have?

I was all about UGA crushing Hawaii for the first three quarters. Everytime we sacked or intercepted I was screaming at the telly until I sounded like Bonnie Tyler ("It's a heartache" circa 1977, remember her? God I'm old.)

Then, after the start of the fourth quarter and 8 sacks later, Jones takes Brennan out of the game and puts that backup QB Graunke(sp) in.

A sideline camera had a real quick shot of Brennan on the bench after he realized he wasn't going back in and he was crying. It was at that point I sort of realized that the poor kid and his team should never have been playing that game in the first place. I hope we didn't screw up his draft positioning.

I think Miss Chica hits the nail on the head about "tradition" and next year, maybe we'll see some better matched teams playing each other.

Some things I took away from bowl season thus far:

1. Florida's defense was either really bad or Michigan got really pumped up for the Lloydster's last game. Tebow and Harvin combined for like 87% of the Gator offense. They need to spread that out before next year or risk having both injured early. I love that they open 2008 with the Warriors coming to Swampland.

2. Bob Stoops is not what he used to be. He voted Oklahoma #1 at the last Coach's poll and placed UGA behind Hawaii. He got pissy cuz the Sooner Nation wasn't going to the Championship game after defeating Mizzou, then he gets a butt-waxing from WVA who didn't even have a head coach at the time!

3. My God, how good is USC? LSU and OSU not withstanding, USC might be a preseason #1 next year. Just think where they'd be if they were healthy all year. Very impressed with Pete Carroll. A classy guy. Stoops could learn from him.

4. Is it just me that thinks there's a transfer of power among what would be called the Elites? You still got USC, LSU, OSU, UGA playing in BCS games, but also Hawaii, Kansas and Illinois were in there, not to mention Missouri who should have been in there. Are we seeing better coaches taking mid-talent teams to the next level? Are the quantity and quality of players beginning to even out amongst the conferences? It makes me wonder who will be bowling next year.

Hapy New Year to all and I look forward to V-Tech and Kansas being a burner!

F-T-D,
Thank you for your insight, I love talking about college football and will miss it after Monday's game!

I completely agree with you about Stoops and OU. OU has become the Buffalo Bills of the BCS. Wasn't last night's loss their 4th in a row? It's either 3 or 4 in a row. I still think he's a good coach but not what he was back in 2000 or maybe his talent isn't there.

WV was a lot faster than OU last night, bottom line.

As for FL, their secondary was young this year and Michigan exploited it. Did you see the guy with the 2 one-handed catches? Sorry, but I'm glad Michigan beat FL and God knows I'm not a Michigan fan! I just got sick of hearing about Tebow all freaking year long BUT at the end of the day, he's a good kid and it's hard to dislike him.

I hope tonight's game is exciting, geez we deserve it.
