I'm Just Askin'
Question of the day: Is it possible to order a meteor to hit the Michigan/Ohio St game this Saturday?

I'm so sick of hearing all the hype about this game. And for those of us who didn't grow up in the Midwest, it's not the "biggest or best rivalry" in all of sports. Give me a break!

ESPN picks one item to discuss and that's all they talk about! I wish to God there were some other way to get sports information on a regular basis. I've reduced my ESPN tv time to College Gameday and that becomes unbearable at times too. That's a whole other conversation though.

Well they did start a countdown 4 weeks ago. I mean when they tell you that there are 3,000 hours till kick off it is excessive. I will say that both of these teams have lots of fans but I think that it will be a borefest.

I hope two things happen.

A. huge free for all fight in the middle of the field
B. burining cars after the game.

Go big blue

Oh, there will be burning of cars! That's how Ohio St peeps celebrate in Columbus.

I'm cheering for Michigan as well.

These moronic posts were obviously written solely to bait me into responding. Okay, I'll play.

First, Sportschica, why all the hate for OSU? Oh, wait, that's right,.....tee, hee....nevermind.

Second, "hype"? Sheeee. I guess no one remembers Miami - Notre Dame and Miami - FSU year after freekin year. Oh, wait, that involved Miami............so it wasn't excessive.

Borefest? You mean, like Miami and FSU earlier this year? Or Miami - Duke a couple weeks ago? Or Miami - Tech two weeks ago? Yawn. Oh, wait, Miami - FIU! Now that definitely was not a borefest.

"Free for all in the middle of the field"? Really, please, tell me you did not say that on Sportschica's Miami blog. You're too funny, Neal. Children just say the darndest things. God, that's funny.

I guess, Sportschica wishes for my untimely demise. I'll say, "Good bye." now, as the meteor will scorch me beyond recognition on Saturday. Sportschica......that hurts.

Hey, Sportschica may have something here. Follow me here. Now, if the meteor strikes, taking out the two best teams, that may just be what we need to propel an SEC team into the national championship game and all the SEC morons can shut up about getting screwed year after year. Kind of like last week's elections. I hated the results, but have been enjoying the lack of whining and blabbering by the libs about how another election was stolen from them. Funny how that works.

You guys are too easy. It'll be stimulating to be back in the north this weekend, where people actually provide an intellectual challenge. After months toying with simple minds here, my mind needs a workout.

Trigeek,
First off, I never said it would be a borefest. Second, you KNOW that ESPN over plays everything and this is one of them. It makes those of us who don't care about either of these 2 teams sick and you know you would feel the same way if your team were not involved in this game. So, get over it.

As for the intelligence of my blog, if I'm so beneath your IQ level, then by all means stop reading it! Last I checked, I forced no one's hand to read what I write. Funny thing though, a lot of people sure do seem to enjoy it so I must be doing something right.

And btw, before you start berating Miami and their games, who has OSU played so far this season? Oh right, Texas. Didn't they lose to Kansas St the other night?? Rrrrright.

Tirdgeek,

First off get off my land, carpet bagger bitch.

Second be sure to bring your fire extinguisher to the game, we wouldn't want you to burn your sweater vest.

Third....Ohio has the highest rate of insest in the country. IQ anyone

Everyone calm down. The voice of reason has arrived. Sure Michigan and OSU are the 2 best teams right now (well according to the polls) but all will be decided on sat. One team will get their ass kicked ( I think I know which one) and whiners but say we should see a rematch for the national title.

Not so fast my friend. Everyone says lose at the beginning of the season not at the end and this game is no different. People are already saying there s/b a rematch and the peeps haven't even played. The hype for this game is ludacris (head's up-lights out....oops sorry) And of course the game will be B-O-R-I-N-G. All Big Ten Games are. Hope Chad Henne of Big Blue loses the dumb and dumber haircut.

Good news! UGA will not lose this sat

As I was saying. Hey Al, before you start slamming Ohio IQ's, you might want to learn how to spell. Thanks for making my point for me. Oh, and there's a reason why Deliverance was filmed in the South.

Injoy the futball gayme this Saterday.

Ms. Sportschica, Neal said it would be a "borefest", not you. Now Neal feels bad. He now knows you didn't read, or pay attention to, his post.

Second (n3al, that means "2", which comes after "1", and which, when multiplied by 4, equals 8), your OSU comments were quite hurtful.

Third (n3al....oh nevermind), a lot of people seem to enjoy watching Oprah, Jerry Springer, Grey's Lobotomy AND............ESPN, but that doesn't mean they're doing anything right.

Seventh (let's see if n3al notices that we skipped four, five and six), I've been excited about many overhyped Miami games in the past, including the two games that I watched with you in '04, when they lost and you forever banned me from your presence during Miami games. I was really excited in Jan '02 when your Canes ran Nebrascum out of the Rose Bowl. Then there was the exhilirating pasting of Notre Dumb back in the late '80's, a true work of beauty. See?

Neal, it's okay to keep posting. I'm reading your messages and I think they're good, no matter what Sportschica says.

Even I now want this to be over. I went to ESPN.com a little while ago to see if there was anything new of note about the game. Geez! I'm surprised they don't have a special "OSU - UM" tab across the top. NBA......NFL.......MLB........OSU - UM......NHL......Golf

They have analyzed this game nine ways to Sunday. For cryin' out loud, I think someone wrote a column comparing the lengths of each wide receivers lower leg bones. It's out of control. But, that is how ESPN makes their pesos.

I'll be glad when OSU wins Saturday night and this will all be over.

And, just for the record, I do not wish for a rematch, even if my team loses. Think of this game as a playoff elimination game. Winner fights on, loser goes home.............to Ann Arbor.

Stop the madness already!!!

And Another thing Trigeek,
Don't get me wrong, I will be watching this game on Saturday. I'm sure it will still be a good one but I still stand by my comments (as you have now witnessed for yourself on ESPN), that ESPN has overhyped it to the nth degree.
