The Blog Is Not Dead!

La Chica has been working!

And for the record, the NFL Draft is not my biggest concern; I'm more worried about the Kentucky Derby this weekend!

I have not had a chance to check out how my Dolphins did in the draft. I know we got Jake Long as our number 1 pick but is that good? How about the Falcons getting Matt Ryan? As one of my buddies said (Tara), Matt will be seeing a lot of Grady Hospital during his tenure in Atlanta; unless of course, Arthur got him some awesome OLine men.

How did your teams do? How about the Hawks being tied with the Celtics in the playoffs? As you all know, I hate the NBA but how much fun would it be if the measly Hawks beat the team who was supposed to win it all this year?!

Gotta run for now freakitos, talk amongst yourselves for a bit!

Most of the talking heads are giving the Falcons anywhere from a C+ to a B grade with their draft picks.

I like Matt Ryan and hope he will begin a new quarterback era in Atlanta. I looked up this Sam Baker kid's stats at USC and, if you don't include the time he spent being injured, he has really good numbers.

Here's my issue - Would they have been better off getting Glen Dorsey with the 3rd overall pick (to replace the venerable Rod Coleman) and then pick up Chad Henne or trade up to Joe Flacco with the 2nd?

Hats off to the Hawks. I didn't give them a chance in hell of even coming within 20 points of Boston and here they are heading back to Boston with the series all tied up. I'm starting to Believe!

This time of year I really start missing college football and can't wait for it to start back. Especially this year with my beloved Bulldogs poised to start a championship run (I probably just jinxed them).

I'm glad your blog is not dead, Miss Chica.

FTD,
I'm glad my Dolphins did not go with Ryan as their 1st pick; we all know how putting all your eggs in 1 qb can come back to bit you in the ass. Who knows, Ryan may be different. He's a smart kid so we know he will not be killing dogs for sport in the off-season like the moronic Vick did.

My Dolphins got Henne, I was hoping for Brian Brohm. What do you think?

Henne is a big tough guy and he got some protection with Jake Long selected as the first pick. Henne will be starting quickly if Parcells falls out of love with Beck

IMHO, Brohm will be more durable than Henne.

You will have people questioning Brohm's numbers last year and the drop in performance but I attribute that to the team not being as good as in previous seasons, not the quarterback.

FTD,
I feel the same way about Brohm, even with a sucky team last year (especially on the defensive side), he still had a good season. I wish Miami would have taken him!

On another note: I CAN'T WAIT FOR COLLEGE FOOTBALL TO BEGIN! And my team is gonna suck again!

Mizz Chica, I think our 'Canes might raise a few eyebrows this year, certainly with QB play.

Anonymous poster,
I hope to God you're right! I would love nothing more than to improve vastly on last year's record. And I know, some of you are thinking, they only improve but not really! Shannon recruited a lot of talent but that's gonna take a couple of years to see.

I hope I'm wrong!
